Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Lancashire Greeting for Princess Margaret. DESCRIPTION: The Princess visited Manchester, Salford and Warrington during her tour of Lancashire. SHOTLIST: KS. GV driving through crowded streets. Arrives at Town Hall, Manchester. Introduced by Lord Mayor (Alderman Robert Moss) to the officer of Manchester Regiment. CU officer. Inspects Guard of Honour Manchester Regiment. LS walks onto platform at Free Trade Hall. GV gathering seated. Princess Margaret addresses them & lays stone. Cut-in of CU stone. At Salford, drives through cheering crowds. Arrival at Salford Electrical factory. Alights from car. Interior - inspects the work, various electrical instruments. Car leaves. Next day - drives through cheering crowds arrives at Pilkington Glassworks, greeted. Interior - watching glass making process, through coloured glass. Princess cuts glass with a diamond. Drives through cheering crowds, arrives Warrington Town Hall, greeted by Councillor Hygham, opens new premises for Boys’ Club. Driving through cheering crowds in narrow streets in & out of camera.
