DESCRIPTION: The story of Seretse Khama and the Bamangwatos of Bechuanaland has been well in the news again, he went to Francistown Airport en route to Southampton where he arrived by BOAC flying boat. Seretse Khama on airfield at Francistown. Talking (silent) with other tribal chiefs. Board small plane. Plane taxies & takes off. Preceded by shot of natives watching behind barbed wire. Bechuanaland Protectorate Police on airfield. SCU of Mrs Ruth Williams (Mrs Seretse Khama) seated in car watching her husband’s departure (take care of these only cine pictures in our possession). Small plane in flight mix to BOAC flying boat taxies into quay at Southampton. Seretse Khama alights & escorted through dozens of pressmen & cameramen.
