- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Holy Thorn Blooms on Twelfth Night. DESCRIPTION: The Holy Thorn at Orcop, some nine miles south of Hereford, according to legend traces back to the tree from which Christ’s crown of thorns was made. It is said to blossom at midnight every year on the 5th of January. SHOTLIST: KS. SCU of bloom of thorn. Several shots of the tree and the bloom. Mr Reg Powell puts up barbed wire. Powell voices his opinion about the crowds gathering & damaging tree. Crowds (at night) arrive in coaches, feeding at mobile canteen. Crowds looking up at tree. Cut-ins of bloom & CU of bloom.
