MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Malta - Busy Days for Princess and Duke. DESCRIPTION: A recent engagement for Princess Elizabeth in Malta was the Re-hallowing Service at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Valletta. The next day the Royal couple attended the Saddle Club Dance at the Hotel Phoenicia. Two days later the Princess, accompanied by Admiral Sir Arthur Power, visited several of the international ships currently in port. SHOTLIST: KS. GV of Cathedral. Princess Elizabeth arrives at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Valletta, received by religious dignitaries. Attended by the Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr Fisher) a war memorial was dedicated. At Hotel Phoenicia, Princess & Duke, with Lady Pamela attend a dance. Interior - the above dance in an eightsome reel. Accompanied by Admiral Sir Arthur Power, Princess visit ships, Royal launch approach. Passing "Rajput" Royal Indian Navy, (a destroyer). Aboard Princess inspects crew. HMS "Newcastle" manned as launch passes Princess boards "Tippu Sultan" Pakistan Navy. Inspects crew. Launch passing USS "Des Moines" with the Duke they board, piped aboard, received by Vice Admiral Ballentine. Inspects crews & armaments of ship. Couple depart.
