Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: His Majesty Visits Uss Columbus. DESCRIPTION: At Portsmouth, His Majesty received the Keys of the City on arrival, afterwards in procession he drove to the cruiser USS Columbus. Aboard he was received by Admiral Connolly and Mr Lewis Douglas. The Royal Standard was flown from the ship during His Majesty’s visit. SHOTLIST: KS. "Columbus" fully dressed. Train pulls into station, King alights presented with Keys of City. Drives in car to dockyard. King boards ship, salute fired, piped aboard, greeted by Admiral Connolly, also Mr Douglas (Ambassador). King inspects guard of honour. Various shots of ship. SCU Royal Standard flying at masthead - rare event. King inspects the ship, various shots. King & company go below. Posed shots of King & company on deck of ship.
