- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Paderborn Manoeuvres. DESCRIPTION: Once again British and American tanks rolled through the villages of Germany, this time, however, it was all part of the the big manoeuvres held at Paderborn recently. General de Lattre de Tassigny, Commander of the Western Union’s Land Forces, was there to watch together with a large number of foreign observers for this was one of the most comprehensive military exercises to be held since the war. Mr Shinwell was also at Paderborn and he met many of the men, a large of whom are National Services conscripts. SHOTLIST: KS. Tanks rumble past camera. Tanks along streets.
