Summary: A special tough rubber is produced for the inner linings of tank tyres, and moulded into place. Another layer is applied and the tyre is sent to be hardened. Tyre then receives pattern of tread and an inner tube is fitted. Tested with Bren gun bullets - holds out under machine gun fire etc.
