- Summary
- Plastic lenses are used for spectacles and binoculars - a quicker process than glass. Ex-servicemen learn to use the machines used in lense preparation. First comes the production of blanks, which are then softened for impression by dies. The work is inspected for flaws. Binocular casing now comes in plastic also. An officer is given an eye-test, then fitted with a pair of plastic contact lenses.
