- Speeding up war production by machine. Robot labour in the Midlands digs up earth for quarrying operations. Steel, coke and slag production. Slag in particular is seen to have many new uses: slag in furnace, production of foam slag, crushing plant. Finished material used to make: concrete for joists, slabs, flat roofs, entire cottages etc and many building requirements.
