Summary
US National Archive entry: 9 min, sd, B&W, 35mm Nazi mechanized equipment leaves Rome. Civilians cheer as Fifth Army tanks enter. A German emerges from a building and surrenders. Pope Pius welcomes British troops at the Vatican. Italian women inspect graves of massacred civilians. British and Indian troops march towards Montone; German prisoners are herded to the rear; field guns are fired; tanks advance; and infantry move from building to building in the city.
