- Summary
- The modern city of Teheran; street scenes; peasants. Strategic importance of Iran - link between Russia and ports of Persian Gulf- artery for supplies from Britain and the US. Temporary Allied occupation of Iran. Imperial troops take over the oil refinery of Abadan to cut off German supplies. Shots of troops embarking on the River Shatt-el-Arab. German and Italian technicians take shelter in their legations. Shots of the new Shah, husband of Princess Fawzieh of Egypt, as he arrives to take oath at the Houses of Parliament in Teheran. The people acclaim their King. Kasvin, near Teheran: Russian occupying forces meet British forces - first pictures of British and Russian troops fraternizing since the last war. British officer inspects Russian tank and armoured car units; Russian commander reviews British and Indian troops. Speeches expressing mutual comradeship are made. Russian officers entertain their British Allies at a special dinner.
