Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Holland Greets Her New Queen. DESCRIPTION: Queen Wilhelmina has abdicated and passes the throne to her daughter Juliana. Wilhelmina speaks to her people from the Palace balcony and then the new Queen addresses them. Queen Juliana and her family then made a State drive through the streets of Amsterdam. SHOTLIST: KS GV huge crown being carried through streets. Several shots of same, including GV & elevated. SCU crown being transports. GVs Royal yacht passing through lines of all types of ships, small craft. Aboard, MS ship fully decorated. Elevated GV crowds outside Palace - the Dam. Queen Wilhelmina and Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard walk onto balcony. Elevated GV crowds cheering. Queen Wilhelmina addresses huge crowds. Kisses Juliana. Elevated GV cheering and frantically waving crowds. Juliana speaks to crowds. Cut-in women listening, tears on their cheeks, some crying. Wilhelmina shakes Juliana’s hand. Wilhelmina withdraws from balcony & Juliana’s children come on - Princesses Beatrix, Irene, Margriet, Marijke. Elevated GV huge crowds cheering, waving etc. SCU types. Elevated GV cheering crowds and frantically waving. Various angle shots of procession passing through the streets, Royal carriage with Queen Juliana, Bernhard and three eldest Princesses. Carriage stops & bouquet presented to Juliana. Carriage moves off out of camera to finish.
