MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Test Match - England V Australia. 3rd & 4th Days. DESCRIPTION: Record crowds packed Trent Bridge for the continuation of the Test Match. Australia’s Keith Miller was booed by the crowd who accused him of bodyline bowling. The hero of England’s innings was Denis Compton who made a magnificent 184. SHOTLIST: KS GV crowds in fore with pavilion in background. Elevated shot of crowds. Elevated GV crowds, pavilion in background. LS play. MS Alec Bedser bowls to Don Bradman, who is caught out by Len Hutton. MS scoreboard at 509. MS Hutton and Cyril Washbrook out to bat. MS Keith Miller bowls to Denis Compton, who ducks to miss ball. Crowds boo, Miller runs up to bowl but stops owing to booing. Australians in - crowds still booing Miller. LS play. Teams run in owing to rain. MS crowds with heavy rain falling. MS pavilion. SCU Ray Lindwall seated in pavilion. SCU Neil Harvey fields balls. GV play, shows Australians close in around Compton. Compton hits ball hard & Barnes manages to stop same. Compton pretends to fire at Barnes who also pretends to fall to ground. MS crowds. SCU Compton batting. Compton gets his 100. Australians shake Compton’s hand. GV play. Compton batting. MS Compton hits ball from the off to square leg, camera pans with ball - 4. Several shots of Compton batting. Compton into pavilion, crowds cheering, applauding.
