- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Eisenhower Discounts War Talk. DESCRIPTION: As he takes up his post as President of Columbia University, he answers reporters on the possibility of war. SHOTLIST: KS Reporters seated around Eisenhower. Several interior shots Ike surrounded by reporters. CU Ike saying I believe today, as I did a year ago, that no great nation would deliberately provoke global war at this time. That does not mean that war cannot start. Wars are stupid and can start stupidly. There could be many situations from which one nation or another would find it difficult to back away from. But, I repeat my statement, that no great nation would deliberately provoke global war today.
