MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Diphtheria 10 - Trailer. SHOTLIST: MS distressed man walks down steps of Isolation Hospital. MS boy approaches him and says tell me the right time please? CU face of man. CU pocket watch. Dissolve to man dangling watch in front of baby daughter and wife saying it’s the right time to have her immunised the doctor said, but there isn’t any diphtheria about and he says, of course, as soon as there’s any chance of her coming into contact with other children I’m all for having her done, she seems so absurdly young for it. CU mother picks up baby and says still that’s what he says was the right time. CU baby on the floor. MCU mother playing with baby. VOICE OVER: I’ll find time next week to run over to the Welfare Centre. MCU mother changing baby - VOICE OVER: FATHER _ I will take her into the Doctors next time I’m passing, she’s such a picture of health it seems silly to fuss. CU mother with baby. . VOICE OVER: Another time. CU baby being fed. VOICE OVER: They say there are no after effects . CU mother’s tearful face. MS doctor telling parents We’ve done everything we can and turning to nurse he says we weren’t in time - another young life wasted unnecessarily because well meaning parents delayed - every baby should be immunised at one year old but all children under fifteen should have been immunised, should be protected at once - time may be ticking on towards tragedy in your home.
