MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britain V Rest of Europe - Soccer. DESCRIPTION: Great Britain met the Rest of the World in a soccer international at Hampden Park, Glasgow. Great Britain scored six goals to emerge the victors. SHOTLIST: KS GV football pitch. Joseph Westwood shakes hands with both teams. Captain toss up. Elevated shot of kick off. Great Britain attacks, MCU Stanley Matthews dribbling. No 7 and Wilf Mannion passing to one another as they near opponents goal. Matthews dribbling. Mannion (No 9) scores first goal. The Rest attack, Praest dribbles passes to Nordahl who scores. Britain in the Rest goal area, Lubl falls and handles ball. Mannion takes penalty and scores. Various shots of Da Rui, the Rest goalkeeper in action, Steele scores Britain’s third. Mannion - Tommy Lawton combination attack, Mannion scores, ball rolls into net, Lawton follows same to make doubly sure. Cut-ins of crowds. Attacking The Rest, Parola, harassed by Lawton puts ball in own goal. GV of play around The Rest goal, Lawton near goal, and ball rolling into net to make final score 6 - 1.
