MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Fuel Crisis. DESCRIPTION: COAL ON THE MOVE - Miners have worked very hard to build up stocks and coal is on the move again. In some places people queued for hours in freezing conditions to get a little coke for cooking and heating. SHOTLIST: KS GVs of coal pitheads. Several shots of coal trucks loaded with coal. Coal being loaded onto ships. CU of coal falling into hold of ship. MS & CU Mitcham collier, also name, aboard the Mitcham coming up River Thames. Various shots including close-ups of coal being unloaded at Wandsworth Gas Company. Many queues of men, women with prams, barrows etc. for coal, coal being weighed and issued in sacks. LS Barking Power Station as seen from river. Interior - SCU & CU Sir Robert Renwick who voices his opinion about the fuel position.
