- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Atlanta Hotel Fire. DESCRIPTION: The worst fire in American history happened at the Winecoff Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia in the early hours of 7th December. Nearly 150 people perished and of those who escaped many were injured. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV entrance of hotel. Various shots in early morning of burning hotel, firemen fighting the smoking Winecoff Hotel. (Cut-ins of stills - girl jumping from window - pan up of guests looking out of window waiting for firemen to rescue them. Turntable fire escape up side of building). Interior shots of firemen inspecting burned out rooms etc. trying to find cause of fire. Stretcher cases being carried to ambulances. Crowds look on.
