- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wallace - Byrnes - Truman on Foreign Policy. DESCRIPTION: Mr Byrnes reports on the Paris Peace Conference and he is obviously supported in his work by President Truman. Forthcoming American Elections are making for a difficult situation. SHOTLIST: KS from 47477 - MS Versailles Palace. Interior shots of Hall of Mirrors, shows foreign delegates being received. Exterior shot French Household Cavalry. Byrnes walks into camera. GV delegates in small groups chatting (silent). Library - CU Henry A Wallace, SV Wallace speaking in Madison Square on foreign policy, mentioning Russia and United Nations - this was in December 1942. Library - GV Capitol, Washington - Interior CU Byrnes seated at desk reporting on peace conference in Paris - from 47491. At Athens, Tennessee, various shots of upturned cars, the GIs claiming vote was crooked, various shots of damages done by GIs. At Independence, Missouri, Truman shaking hands with neighbours and his friends, this being the home of Truman. Shots of Byrnes standing behind mikes. Truman stands behind mikes and wishes Byrnes every success in obtaining peace, saying that Byrnes had America behind him in his mission.
