- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Scotland. DESCRIPTION: The crowds gave a great welcome to Their Majesties on their arrival at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh. The King knighted the Lord Provost, John Falconer, the first time the ceremony has been performed in public for centuries. SHOTLIST: KS Elevated shot Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street. Royal car arrives, into camera, Royal Family alight. The King in naval uniform, Queen, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. Lord Provost Falconer surrenders keys of city to King. King then knights Lord Provost Falconer, Queen receives bouquet of roses from Diana Falconer (daughter). Guns (unseen) firing salute. King inspects Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Guard of Honour. MS Queen chatting (silent) with Diana Falconer on dais. Royal Party leave dais, board car and drive off amid cheering crowds, crowd shot.
