- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: F/Marshal Viscount Alexander Receives Freedom of City of London. DESCRIPTION: At London’s Guildhall Field Marshal Alexander receives a token Sword of Honour, in addition to the Freedom of the City. SHOTLIST: KS. Lord Mayor presents Sword to Alexander. Cut-ins of audience applauding. Alexander walks up to mike to address same. Says words to the effect that he is receiving Freedom etc. on behalf of all the soldiers etc. who have fought under him. Lady and Viscount Alexander enter landau outside Guildhall, drive through streets of London, turn in at Mansion House, in background Stock Exchange. Crowd shots waving etc. Alexander on balcony addresses crowd, says words to the effect that the best troops under him were the City of London soldiers. Crowds applaud and cheer.
