MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: German People’s Car Volkswagen Car. DESCRIPTION: The factory erected by Hitler is now turning out Volkswagen cars for use by British Military personnel. German prisoners of war drive the cars for officers of the British Military Government and Allied Control Commission. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Elevated shot of German motor factory. GV of same. Convoy of cars leaving factory. CU car. CU dickey which is lifted revealing engine. Car put through test, over muddy and rough incline. Germans (prisoners) drive them away, checked out by British officers. Hundreds of German cars labelled for export. In Coventry, interior shots of Hillman-Humber factory, British men at work, fixing bodies to chassis. Testing car over rumbler. Various shots of car they are turning out for export.
