- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: German Embassy Junk Brings High Prices. DESCRIPTION: Earls Court was the venue for an auction to sell off furniture and relics from the German Embassy. SHOTLIST: KS GV Interior German Embassy. Interior shots of rooms in which are displayed furniture, relics, silverware etc. SCU Mr Coleridge (first auctioneer) seated at desk, cut-in crowds. Coleridge addresses buyers, "the first lot being a carpet" bids rise to £36. GV Mr Dafforn, looking at champagne glasses, takes over auctioneering of goods, "This is the second time I have had the pleasure of selling German goods, today I offer you a lump of granite, etc". CU Hitler bust. Bids rise to £500, bought by Captain Canning. SV Canning, paying in the cash, auctioneer counting same. GVs of Nazis flags, with "London" etc. marked in corners, these were to be used after the capture of London. CU flags.
