- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: News From the Continent. DESCRIPTION: Vienna - Occupying forces enjoyed a day at a recent Race Meeting held on the Prater Course in Austria’s capital. The following day there were three British entrants in the Vienna Grand Prix Motor Cycle Race. Hertogenbosch - At a Victory Parade in Hertogenbosch, Holland, Major-General Ross of the liberating 53rd Division presented a shield to the Burgomaster. Berlin - The British have set in motion a scheme to evacuate German children to the country for the winter months. Nuremberg - German prisoners, under the supervision of Americans, are re-building and enlarging the court room for the forthcoming trials. In a nearby jail all the main accused are kept under close guard. SHOTLIST: VIENNA: KS Horses paraded in paddock. Various shots of crowds, British, Russian etc. including many ATS. GV betting booth. GV of race and horses taking a hurdle. GV coming up straight. VIENNA: KS Driver McCracken seated on motor cycle. GV of start of race. Rudolph Runtsh into camera with laurel wreath round his neck - the winner. HERTOGENBOSCH - KS GV St John’s Cathedral. SCU Major General Ross with Dutch Burgomaster. Major General Ross presents Burgomaster with 53rd Welsh Division Shields. CU Shield. Shots of crowds. Dutch custom - drummers lead flag swingers into court. Cut-ins of crowds and Major General Ross watching same. BERLIN: KS GV Berlin school. Children register. Being de-loused. Children board coaches, parents kiss them goodbye. Coaches drive through Russian sector, into British sector. NUREMBERG: KS GV Court building - exterior. Interior shot of Germans altering court room. Exterior shots of covered corridor leading from cells to court. LS prisoners being exercised. Various shots of prison. Interior - GV cells with Yanks guarding same. CU window of cell. CU names of prisoners who occupy each cell. Nameplate being: H Goering; von Ribbentrop; Seyss-Inquart, Donitz; von Papen; Streicher etc. Yank guard looking through peep-holes into cells, also handing food through look-in.
