- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Meteor Speed Trials. DESCRIPTION: The "Meteor" is being well prepared for the forthcoming attempt on the World Air Speed Record. The course will be flown low over the sea at Herne Bay, Kent and the timing and still cameras are being tested for the event. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Meteor in flight. Mechanics at work on Meteor, polishing, tuning engines, etc. CU air intakes. CU machine guns in fuselage. CUs various parts of plane. MS Meteor starting, taxies and takes off. Various shots of it in flight, flying very low, just above zero level, and travelling very fast. Meteor comes into land, landing. CU name "Britannia" on fuselage of Meteor. GV coastline at Herne Bay, pans to twin towers of 7th century church at Reculver and CU of same. The course at Reculver. Various shots of speed recording apparatus, timing camera, still camera, shot of plane flying very low over sea and instruments recording speed etc. CU Mr Eric Greenwood and Group Captain Wilson standing at Meteor.
