MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Many Salute "The Few". DESCRIPTION: Battle of Britain Day at North Weald and Lord Dowding is surrounded by some of the pilots who took part in the Battle. Group-Captain Bader led the fly-past over London and many watched in Trafalgar Square. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Spitfires, engines running, lined up waiting to take off on Weald aerodrome. Lord Dowding surrounded by Battle of Britain pilots, being Group Captains, Douglas Bader, Turner. Carey and Thompson; Wing Commanders Brothers, Tuck. Crowley-Milling, Ellis, Drake, Lofts and Wells. LIBRARY: At Biggin Hill, interior shots of church showing names of those killed in the Battle of Britain. Group Captain Bader climbs into Spitfire, lifting his legs in, plane taxies, taking off three at a time. Various aerial views of same in flight over London. Aerial of Tower Bridge, very good, also St Paul’s Cathedral, over Trafalgar Square, Nelson’s Column in fore with planes in background. Fade to ground shots of crowds in Square and SV of Mr Attlee. Mr Attlee addressing crowds, over shots of crowds. SCU base Nelson’s Column showing "Save More" posters, etc.
