Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Riviera Landings Anniversary. DESCRIPTION: A year ago the Allies were landing in the South of France, the event was commemorated with the unveiling of a plaque at Cap Dramont. SHOTLIST: KS Riviera coastline. Good look down shot of above coast, panning shot, including beaches and promenade. Various games on beach. Personalities come ashore in a yacht. Sailors off German landing craft. French War Minister, Mr Duff Cooper and Major General Dalquist watch the unveiling of a plaque at Cap Dramont. US troops at salute. CU one type. CU British sailors. US Band marches past, also British sailors. Pan of bay, showing destroyers and the cruiser "Ajax" aboard which is seen Admiral Sir John Cunningham. CU Admiral. Girls aboard some of the ships. Scenes of them aboard destroyer HMS Marne and sailors showing them around same.
