- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Philippines - As the Wounded See It. DESCRIPTION: On the third anniversary of Pearl Harbour the Americans made a new landing on the island of Leyte. Pictures of the rescue and evacuation of wounded were taken by a cameraman of the American Army Signal Corps. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of American troops on island of Leyte, pan of Ormoc Bay, shows sunken ship, Yank fires bazooka at same, also Sherman fires guns at barge, which burns furiously. Inland wounded are carried from battle-fields, stretcher-bearers, etc. in action. Blood transfusions being given while on the move, on stretcher & jeep. Wounded walk towards casualties tent. Landing craft approach Luzon, battleships in background fire guns. Few shots of troops landing on Luzon, making their way up river towards Manila, also by road. US flag flies from house. Filipinos wave & cheer US troops as they pass on foot & on tanks.
