- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Story of Lublin. DESCRIPTION: The story begins with pictures of the Polish Committee of National Liberation which is recognised by the Soviet, whilst Britain acknowledges the Polish Government in London. Lublin had been enduring a reign of terror throughout the Nazi occupation. The culmination of the horror’s was the shooting of seven hundred Polish men, women and children in the last moments before the town was freed. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU National Polish Flag. Interior shots of NL Committee, set up in Kholm, Poland. Various CUs of individuals. Elevated shot of Lublin; Russian tanks enter city, another stationary fires gun. Various shots of Russian infantry in street fighting, also many Polish troops. Artillery on outskirts of city, shell same. Liberated people cheer infantry & mobile units as they enter city, amongst which are many Polish soldiers. German prisoners being searched by Russians. Various shots of German wrecked equipment etc., other prisoners, officers marched off down streets. GV Castle of Lublin, interior shots shows hundred of dead Polish men, women & children. CU of dead, & pan. Outside in castle grounds, pan of still more hundreds of dead.
