Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Stalingrad Arises. DESCRIPTION: Pictures of Stalingrad taken earlier this year show the terrible destruction wrought in the city and the struggle to clear and rebuild it. In Moscow, the British Ambassador was present when delegates from Stalingrad received the sword of honour in the Kremlin. SHOTLIST: Cut story - LS Stalingrad, also goods train running through in fore. Civilians walk through city, ruts in streets, puddles etc. Pan of the October Works, German captured equipment, guns, helmets etc. placed on truck, & towed away. Various shots of molten metal, flowing from ladles to moulds. Children arrive at school various shots of them in their classes, one boy doing maths on blackboard. Russian civilians clamber aboard first tram to run through city since re-occupation. Shot (travelling) of tram & travelling shot of city, passing an obelisk. In the Kremlin MS of Mr Clark Kerr (British Ambassador). General Budenny enters. Sword bearer & escorts enter, hand sword to Budenny, Budenny hand same to Commander Pigalev. CU pan down of the Sword finishing on the hilt. GS of sword being held by bearer.
