Bomber Command activities illustrated by: 8 August, Lancasters bomb railway bridge at Etaples; 12 August, Lancasters attack U-boat pens, harbour and adjoining naval school at Brest; 14 August, large-scale attack, in support of the First Canadian Army, on troop concentrations in Normandy; 15 August, attacks on airfields in Holland and Belgium, including one in Zeeland; 27 August, night raid by Lancasters (with high explosives and incendiaries) on Koenigsberg - also attacked three nights later; 31 August, attack by Halifaxes and Mosquitos on an island off the port of St Malo to immobilize coastal batteries; 10 September, attack on the Le Havre area; raid on synthetic oil installations at La Cornuaille (?) [sic]
