MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: ‘Richelieu’ Ready for Battle. DESCRIPTION: French ships are playing an increasing role in the Mediterranean war. The "Richelieu" is now back in service after her re-fit in American Naval Yards. SHOTLIST: Cut Story - KS wash of ship. Elevated shot of Giraud coming aboard ‘Fantasque’, shakes hands with Captain, etc. Inspects sailors lining deck. GS French sailors giving half salute. Shots of Presentations of Croix de Guerre on board ‘Fantasque’ & ‘Terrible’. Giraud pins Croix de Guerre on the fanion. GV of ceremony aboard ‘Fantasque’. MS French on deck wear their hats, display the name of ship. Shots of ‘Jeanne D’Arc’ firing her guns and AA Guns. Plane overhead. Various shots of practice shooting. LS & GS of submarine at sea. Angle shots of ‘Richelieu’ also pan shots of her. GS of her Captain aboard with officers. Travelling shot alongside ‘Richelieu’ shows her sailors lining deck. Stern shot also of boys.
