Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Russian Extracts From the Great Story. DESCRIPTION: The Soviet has maintained a silence on German war material captured or destroyed, it is thought Stalin has held them up for announcement in a special order of the day. From Moscow comes the first pictures of the forming of a National Committee of "Free Germany", it consists of German workers and prisoners of war. Soviet successes in the field have continued with their artillery in the forefront. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Smoke from explosion in field. Various shots of booty - tanks wrecked, parts of smashed planes, also guns, one a 1917 relic (howitzer). German POW being marched in, across fields & through villages. Pan of dead on field. At Moscow interior shows German POW at meeting & forming committee for ‘Free Germany’. GS of manifesto which they all sign, shots of several signing. CU manifesto. GS of one making speech, others applauding. GS of attack on unnamed height, explosion from Russian guns falling on summit of hill. Russians crawling forward with machine guns, others running through trenches, set up guns & fire same. Fire small artillery, explosions around them as they fire. GS of attack on tanks, guns firing, look through field glasses - view. LS of german tank hit, crew jump out & run away. GS & pan of Russian Heavy artillery firing. Various angle shots also from breech, heavy artillery under camouflage netting. Various shots burning German tanks.
