MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Salute to Russia. DESCRIPTION: History has seen the rise of many great nations (today which is the history of tomorrow) we in our lifetime witness the rise of a great nation to its full tremendous stature. National greatness is not entirely a matter of power. Culture is also important. Soviet music, Soviet art, have already taken place among the enduring things of culture. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Russians walking through exhibition of paintings of Stalingrad etc. Russians digging trenches, troops on the march, also Cavalry on the move. Bombers taking off, bombs falling. Women & NFS also painting on them. GS of Russian women nurses inspected, boarding plane, they are to be dropped in fighting line, various shots jumping from planes. Descending. Firing artillery & explosions from hits. Fires raging, more bombers & bombs falling. Various shots of street fighting, dead lying about. Russians put before firing squad. Pan of them after shooting. Ruins of various cities. (Bust of Lenin & paintings. There were several mixes in this).
