MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Churchill in Washington. DESCRIPTION: Having arrived safely in Washington, Mr Churchill goes to the House of Representatives to make a speech. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor were there the watch the Premier. SHOTLIST: Cut story - GS of House of Representatives. Also of the dome. GS of Capitol. Car arriving at House of Representatives. CU of Roosevelt & Churchill inside car. Interior shot of Military Reps. seated at table, include Churchill, Roosevelt, Wavell, Somerville, Portal, Mackenzie King, Lord Halifax. Churchill arrives at H of R with Mackenzie King, followed by Duke & Duchess of Windsor. CU of same, also entering building. CU Wavell & Somerville GS of picnickers in surrounding grounds listen to Churchill’s speech (silent). CU American policeman. Duke & Duchess leaving. Lord Halifax leaving building, followed by Churchill who shakes hands with Victor Wickersham. Congressman. Churchill walks across grounds tightly held by Sol Bloom (Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee). Group walk into camera, which include all those already mentioned. CU Churchill who places his hat on walking stick & waves it to crowd.
