MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Easter, 1943. DESCRIPTION: Rivers and parks proved very popular this Easter, although some preferred to work on their allotment. Sporting events were also well attended such as the match at Stamford Bridge between the Army and the RAF. At Windsor Gordon Richards rode his 2,750th winner. SHOTLIST: Cut story - GS of station (railway). Few shots of Brighton Front, showing it almost deserted, shot of few people seated in shelter on front, also couple of sailors walk along front. Crowded streets of London, shows people looking in shop windows, various shots of gardeners hoeing & digging. Elevated shot of towpath near Richmond. Two couples seated on grass kissing, back to river. Few shots of steamers on river, crowds boarding same. Crowd shots of Hampstead Heath, camera pan. Various shots of crowds at the Zoo, one shot watching the apes, queuing for pictures in London. Shot of cricket match in progress, lookers-on applauding. Crowds at Stamford Bridge watch soccer match between British Army & RAF. Various shots of play, elevated. Crowds in stand. At Windsor, crowd shots of race-goers, GV of finish of first race won by "Mrs Pumpkin" owned by Miss Dorothy Paget. Also part of the race in which G Richards made his 2,750th win beating Archer record. Richards dismounting "Scotch Mist". CU Gordon Richards. Wreck of engine of Ju88 in roadway, & small crowd looking on, few shots of various parts of wrecked plane, oil splashed over seedling, also impression of one of the crew made in the grass.
