- Summary
- [1ST SUBTITLE]: "British infantry under shot and shell." Long shot of explosions on the ground, soldiers seen nearby walking singly and spaced out along a line. Barbed wire and fencing seen in the foreground. Two soldiers in distance running along a bank then walking towards the camera, smoke spreading across the ground in the middle distance followed by a ground explosion. [2ND SUBTITLE]: "Cavalry’s intrepid advance under fire". A double line of mounted cavalry, filmed in the middle distance from an elevated position, crosses open countryside from right to left, then turns away from camera along path. After a jump cut, the camera jerks slightly to the left and a ground explosion occurs just to the left to the troops, the smoke clears and the line of cavalry is seen further along the path, with two horses lying on the ground. One horse attempts to get up. A soldier is seen running past the camera down the hill towards the troops and horses.
