- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: On the Mareth Line. DESCRIPTION: In Tunisia the Eighth Army are poised before the Mareth Line gathering strength in final preparations before striking. General Alexander and Air Vice Marshal Coningham talk to the press, whilst General Montgomery inspects the Gurkhas. SHOTLIST: Cut story - CU Crusader tank off lighter into camera. GS of Alexander outside tent, & addressing (silent) Press Conference. CU Alexander. MS Montgomery inspecting Gurkhas, also CU inspecting one of their knives. Transport advancing along road, also tanks. 25 pounders mounted on Valentine Tank chassis in field (plains) take up positions, firing guns. GS of Pillbox. Also of natural & improved trenches. Looking out of lookout post across valley to Mareth Line. Gurkhas advancing under smoke screen, several damaged Mk.IV tanks, one is blown up by Royal Engineers, LS of formation of Bostons in flight.
