MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: President Roosevelt’s Birthday. DESCRIPTION: Hollywood stars were among the guests at President Roosevelt’s sixty-first birthday party. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Interior shot of Mrs Roosevelt taking off coat, pan of well known film stars such as Loretta Young, Anita Louise & Roddy McDowall. Abbott & Costello shake hands with Mrs Roosevelt, crowds standing round monstrous cake, & singing "Happy Birthday to You", Mrs Roosevelt cutting cake. Charlie McCarthy with ‘doll’ gives a little entertainment. Previous to this Abbott hits himself under chin with mike. Elevated shot of crowds dancing. GV on stage of Waldorf Astoria New York.
