MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Commissioning of "Anson" & "Howe". DESCRIPTION: Trafalgar’s anniversary brings to the minds of all British people the naval might of the Empire and with the commissioning of ‘Anson’ and ‘Howe’, Movietone presents a tribute to the Royal Navy in this sternest sea war of all time. SHOTLIST: Cut story. Library material showing "Victory" on Trafalgar Day, short sequence of ships at Trafalgar. Marines Band playing as signal hoisted. General shot of Anson at sea. General shot of Howe in dock. Aerial shot of Howe in dock. Various shots of workmen on board putting finishing touches. CU Oldest workman. Workman coming off ship, sailors going on. Service being conducted on board. Aerial shot of same. Pay parade. CU pound notes & cash. CU Captain Woodhouse standing under heavy guns. CU Woodhouse. Aerial shot of ship going through docks. CU Bows in camera & SV, tug towing. Interior Engine room, various shots engineers going about their work. In the hospital quarter, theatre, dentist & ward. CU patient in bed. This is a very good story, & photos excellent especially those of ship under Forth Bridge.
