Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Malta Today. DESCRIPTION: After the arrival of the convoy the welcome supplies are unloaded and distributed. In the shadow of the battlements, men supplement their rations by means of allotments. SHOTLIST: Cut Story: Shows a convoy being unloaded at quay-side, food, ammunition & oil being swung ashore. The goods are loaded onto lorries & driven away to dumps, concealed among the trees. Shots which should be remembered especially one long shot of the Fort of the Knights, bombs have torn a hole in one of the walls, but the damage is not serious & under the shadow of the old battlements, garrison tend their allotments & plant cabbages on their farm. Pig-swill is collected in a barrow, pulled by a donkey. CU man stirring the swill, which afterwards is fed to a sow with a fine litter. Shot of a soldier stroking sow & one piglet. Then there is an investiture at which Lord Gort decorates men of Malta. Our forces as well as the native population. With Lord Gort at this inspection are General Officer Commanding Major General Beak, VC, Air Officer Commanding Air Vice Marshal Lloyd, Vice Admiral Malta Vice Admiral Sir Ralph Leatham.
