MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Lord Beaverbrook Anniversary Russia Attacked. DESCRIPTION: Britain marks the first anniversary of Russia’s entry into the war with events all over the country. In London there was a miniature "Aldershot Tattoo" and Sir Stafford Cripps addressed the assembly. SHOTLIST: General views of the crowd in Victoria Square, Birmingham, which include shots of the Council House and the Town Hall. General views of the crowd, before Beaverbrook’s arrival. Beaverbrook arrives with the Lord Mayor. Shots of procession and salute taken by Lord Mayor. Cut Story: This includes a general view of the crowds with Beaverbrook on platform. Anglo-Russian Parade - CARD 42486 There is a big rally at Earls Court Arena in honour of the First Anniversary of the entry of the Soviet Union into the war. The main event of the evening was a speech by Sir Stafford Cripps and then follows a parade in which there is a physical training display and troops demonstrate their drill and there is also a march past of workers which include, transport, factory and NFS personnel. Present at the ceremony are the Russian Ambassador and Mrs Maisky.
