Summary
Pathe synopsis: Balloons for balloons’ sake are the order of the day at Heveningham Hall, Halesworth in Suffolk, where they’re blowing up for what they hope will be an astounding ascension - a balloon race. This is where ancient and modern meet - gas balloon’s verses aviation’s infant, the hot-air balloon. It was from here that Britain’s first balloon race took place in 1784, so they’re commemorating the event and hoping nothing - like prevailing winds or obstructive trees - will deflate their beautiful dreams.
