- Summary
- Pathe synopsis: Londoner’s don’t suffer pea soup November fogs anymore, mainly thanks to the Medical Research Council’s air pollution research unit at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. This is where they watch what’s in the air, and what goes in our lungs with all kinds of super-sophisticated machinery designed to discover what makes a fug. There’s the biggest breathalyser of them all, used to see what the harmful effects of carbon-monoxide can be. One thing they’re pretty sure of: smoking is much more dangerous than dirty air, and that’s why our guinea pig smoker looks so miserable.
