Summary
Pathe synopsis: Portobello Road, Carnaby Street and weirdies in Trafalgar Square - there seems to have been a teen-age revolution or, maybe, an invasion of strange youngsters with a uniform and a lingo that seems foreign to the middle-aged. Examine the scene - and it is both eye-catching, ear-deafening and surprising. You see that some of the "way out" kids are serious students, some are winning Britain an export business in "new" cosmetics and clothes. There are "with-it" whizz kids now running their own, gay magazine taking in the young scene in boutiques and discotheques in Newcastle-on-Tyne and Manchester as well as swinging London. They’re out with the archeologists digging up the remains of King Arthur’s capital, Camelot, then laying on a "Happening" - and nothing could be more psychedelic, whatever that means. Like it or not, we see swinging youth intimately - at work and at play.
