- Summary
- Pathe synopsis: HMS Glamorgan, guided missile destroyer, sails full ahead into the computer age. ADA - Action Data Automation is the Navy’s programmed weapon system: the most sophisticated shorthand ever devised. But Glamorgan has gadgetry to make home comforts more homely too. There’s closed circuit TV; the crew provides its own show business flair; an ice-cream machine with its own mechanical genius; a helicopter flight deck that’s not only a base for anti-submarine operations but a hockey pitch for spare-time relaxation. Pathe Pictorial was privileged to film Glamorgan during sea acceptance trials for the 4.5" guns; a dazzling display of gunnery and the climax of operations the intricate countdown to the firing of a Sea Slug Mark II missile.
