- Summary
- Pathe synopsis: Rome - city of ancient ruins and the sweet, sweet life. The city that breathes history but breezes ahead of the rest of Europe when it comes to entertainment. The city that built the Coliseum also boasts one of Europe’s most trendsetting ideas in show business - auto-cine - open-air cinema with a luxury appeal. There’s room for a thousand cars, each with its own adjustable loudspeaker, heater and ramp so that carborne cinemagoers can choose their viewing angle. The projectors can throw the splendour of Technicolor ten times the length of an indoor theatre and you haven’t seen a giant screen until you’ve been to Rome. For those who get there early for the family show there’s a playground for the children and a bar-restaurant for those making a night of it. But you can filter in by service road from the motorway, collect your ticket through the window and drive straight to your "seat" to enjoy the open-air colour spectacle of on this occasion "My Fair Lady" - an entertainment idea that will soon be seen in Britain.
