Summary
Pathe synopsis: Policemen of tomorrow - on parade at Hendon Cadet training school. It’s passing-out day for the young men who will soon be patrolling the streets of London. These are the recruits who, only a few months ago, were learning the basic principles of a police career. At a Metropolitan Police training college at Ashford, cadets combine academic as well as physical instruction. English, mathematics and geography are just as much a part of the training schedule as learning the finer points of judo or gymnastics. And the assault course at the Lippitts Hill training camp on the edge of Epping Forest is no place for faint hearts and sagging spirits. After months of theory and instruction comes the moment of emergency. This is when the cadet attached to station duties could find himself caught up in the urgency of a 999 call. He may be in a patrol car, with a dog-handler or just on school crossing duty - but it’s only the start of a career fighting crime.
