Summary
Pathe Synoposis - Increasingly more of Britain is becoming streamlined to keep pace with the enormous growth of road-packing traffic. Latest on the list of time-and-temper-saving boons to the motorist is the Tamar Bridge, stretching over the River Tamar near Plymouth. From there, its 30-ft carriageway of reinforced concrete six inches thick reaches over to Cornwall as an extension of the A38 - thus saving a wait of up to two hours for the ferry. Actually putting the enjoyment back into motoring is a long and expensive business, but slowly developments like this are being achieved.
