Summary
Pathe synopsis: Not a new excavation in Italy, but a beauty spot in a place not normally associated with it - in darkest Paddington, London. The occasion is a display of gaily decorated river craft at Paddington Canal Junction. Litle Venice, in fact, has everything except gondolas.
SHOTLIST: British Waterways Canal Trip. LS Regents Park Canal with various launches in the fore-ground. MS two of the launches. CU the Red Ensign on the stern of one of the launches, pan slowly along the tiller to show the highly decorative cabin entrance. Slow pan up the entrance showing various decorations. MS showing the tripper barge with people on the wharf. MS general crowd. CS canal bank, pan onto the boat which comes into picture [as] it makes it way down the canal, pan with it as it approaches a bridge. LS little motor boat following the big boat. MS little boat approaches bridge, another little boat comes into picture and follows it. LS taken from the bows of one of the little boats, pan round to the sidewalk showing traffic running along the road. MS taken from stern of the stream. CU bows of the Water Nymph showing its name. MS the Water Nymph taken from the bows of one of the little boats, as it goes downstream, a bit of foliage brushes across camera. MS the bows of a little boat with the name Water Elf written on it, pan over to show the helmsman who is a young man in a white sweater. CS helmsman. LS ducks flying down canal.
